Next time I will pay the extra

I just ride to my BMW dealer and ask if they would kindly fit two new tyres - I have a coffee, read a couple of magazines, look at bikes, watch the telly, eat all of their chocolate biscuits :) .......a short while later Gary comes upstairs and says 'Will you bike is done' I then mooch downstairs at my leisure, give them some money and ride home happy with shiny new tyres - everyone happy and stress free :D

I was told they would not accept that as their insurance would not allow non employees to do any maintenance work. The site isn't suitable for doing the job in the street.

I get charged £15 per (loose) wheel, fitted and balanced with old tyre disposal. He does the rear on a car wheel dynamic balancer. Front is static balanced.

I did the same last Thursday rode to Bikeworld in Dublin got 2 tyers fitted. Cost me €60 extra. I could have got tyers deliverd €60 cheaper but after years and years of fitting tyers myself I felt like a break. Also I'm very fond of my 12gsa and didn't want to scratch the rims. I admit to leaving a few scrapes here and there. JJH

had my wheels out yesterday. can't have too many straps IMO :D

i always get tyres fitted on loose wheels. it's probably fine at a main dealer, but the thought of some random tyre fitter doing it.....noooooooo.

Hell does seem a little expensive. Don't know where you're located, but my local BMW showroom fitted a new pair of tyres for £220 and I thought that was a bit much, but I am northerner!!!

There fine. You might get better deals up north and fit them yourself. That's what I usually do. I found Bikeworld handy and I'd say they would have what u want. Cotters are good too. Can't fault the service in Bikeworld. You might ride 100 miles to save €10. JJH

Would you know of anyone that does a ride in/out fit only service??

I bought a set of tyres online with a few pints on board a couple of weeks ago............. didn't really think it through!

What's all this about taking wheels off and propping up the bike and transporting wheels to somewhare to get tyers fitted? Why not ride the bike over and then take off the wheels one at a time? JJH

Its quite simple..
The supposedly cheap place for tyres DOES NOT REMOVE NOR REFIT BIKE WHEELS as I said in my original post!
I wasnt looking for work..
Incidentally I got a quote from Shorrocks of Penwortham for the same 2 tyres i have and they quoted £235 fitted..
Pretty much what I paid but they remove and refit!!

The balancing was the same as your guy Bendy

As did I when I asked Wollastons if they would fit a pair of tyres I supplied to loose wheels.
£95.00 PLUS VAT please sir. Needless to say I drove 20 miles further to Bedford wheels and paid £12.00 per wheel
