Thick question?? How would you adjust as the step pre load adjuster is at the other end.. If you turned it around the frame battery box would be in the way??

You just take the side panel off and the adjuster is easily accessible.

The pre 84 shock had a longer neck at the top to clear the battery - part 3 below. You end up with battery acid leaking on certain batteries with the setup he's got.

You can just see it on my old 87 g/s

Yes very nice, would of sorted side panels.tank and seat but that's my personnel preference.

I'm sure it will go for a pretty penny.

I think Sir may be getting a little confused! :beerjug:

Ah ha... I get it thanks.......great detail/knowledge by the way......quite fancy one of these airhead things....used to have a R100RT in the 1980s for my London commute.....

Hmmm...that's a lot of wear on the tank, side panels and seat for a bike that's only done 40 odd thousand miles??? My GSPD has done 66 and not worn through the paint/decals like this at all.

Hee! Hee! I bought a set of NOS early G/S tank decals from Difazios years ago. They should have held on to them! (Though I do get the point made in the text about patina).

It's a shame that Difazios closed down, I used to enjoy popping up to Frome for my MoTs and having a bit of an airhead chinwag with Richard.

The wear on the tank isn't through the paint. It's the blue panel that's an adhesive sticker that's worn .

Bollox, I never thought I'd see the day.............................I'm getting old :(

That is simply gorgeous - how to 'restore' a bike in my book :clap
