Personally, I think the stripes look naff, cheapens it and makes it look like something out of the 1970's rather than a modern machine.
I think the change to black engines btw is going to he a big improvement.

Martini Porsche, U.K. Bikes will be with a black engine (which still corrodes)

porous

I wonder if they paint the engines because the castings are porous, and that seals them up. I wonder what it would be like if when doing a rebuild you stripped all the paint off and just left a cast alloy finish like a air head.

depends on whether you clear coat or not, if not it will turn into a furball in very short order! the paint is a protective finish

How many more "celebratory" editions will they be looking to release this year?
Iconic, anniversary of 110 years, how about VE Day and the collapse of the Berlin Wall?

Saw one of these in the flesh and other than it need s some gold pinstrips it is much nicer

No gold chain BUT the Iconic model is supposed to emulate the old r100rt with its paint scheme, in the flesh the colour scheme is superb but because the new r1200rt is so much larger and slabbier it just needs something to remove some of that slab sided look.

GOLD PINSTRIPES...... Really?????????????? errrr no........Not wearing a gold medallion round yer neck are you????
