Id say your right, iv had one of these now on 3 bikes, 1 gs, an 2 gsa's, all standard ride height, no issues.

Mine is fitted to a low chassis GS without any fouling problems. Could be possible to fit it too far out from the left side I suppose, depending on where you drill the fixing hole.
