Does it work? Not been out in a full blown downpour or on really wet roads since fitted, but it can't be any worse than without can it!!

Does it look good? It's on a BMW 1200GS, does it matter? It looks neat and tidy and is there to serve a purpose for me, one thing I didn't want was a carbon fibre one.

Does it rattle? Not noticed it so far.

Does it rub? Doesn't appear to at the moment, maybe a time thing and I'll be here maoning my tits off in 6 months time!

So far I'm pleased with it.

Went for one of these from Wünderlich. I fitted it whilst visiting there in June this year, took just 10 mins. My Kameraden would class me is 'technically inept' with the spanners so if I can do it anyone can.

No wheel removal necessary.

Really chuffed with it ... result :)

I had one since September 05.
It stops crap being thrown up under the seat and rear shock, but not up the back of your ankles.
It didn't improve, nor detract from, the looks of the bike IMHO.
It did rattle, no matter how much I adjusted it. Sticky pads worked for a while.
It did eventually rub through at the end where it made contact with the bottom shock mount.

I took it off in July 06.

Hi Trev,

Yes had probs with the front wire wheel from new. Vibes coming through the bars from 65 -70 mph and upwards. Replacement new wire from BMW was the same. On a trip to Europe this year numbed my right hand after an hour or so on the Autobahn.

Changed to the cast wheels end of problem.

Without getting into the whole debate about which looks better they are a lot easier to clean.

However the total absence of vibes at the front is wonderful

Hi there

As I am on the subject on another thread that does not look like an Adventure driver seat, is it a GS 1200 seat ?

It is the seat of a standard 1200 GS.

Yep - its the Ilmberger, Wunderlich (Sandbar) one for me too!

Also changed the thingy on the back to carbon (have to have matching accessories you know) & am now looking for a local Lacrosse team to put the old "thingy" to good use.... :beerjug:
