Nippy Normans extendable mudgaurd.

Fitted an extender to the front mudgaurd a while ago.

It rained today so it got used for the first time.

Amount of shite deposited on the cross pipe is much reduced, still a bit there, but nowhere near as much as without it fitted.

Quietly impressed.

Oh, and....

The black finish on the screws means it hardly looks non-original.

I've got a Wundelich one fitted to mine, works a treat but the stainless screws look a bit naff. Been meaning to get some black pop rivets and do the job properly.

Just check, poprivets might just crack the plastic. The cracks will only appear after a couple of weeks or months.

Use black Pyramid Plastics fairing screen screws on mine.

Careful if you use gunk or jizer to clean yer engine....leaves a nasty milky white colour on the extenda that won't be removed!!

I was going to use washers on the inside of the mudguard so as the rivet expands it doesn't put any undue pressure on the plastic. I think that should do the trick - any views?

Have also just got a fender extender from Nippy Normans. Not to keen on the screws though. Two questions. I take it its not necessary to remove the mudguard to attach the extender? And instead of using the screws I was thinking off using a really strong glue? Can't remember its name but comes in two tubes you mix together?

Must be Araldite you're thinking of. Would work, but think about removing it if it gets damaged. Araldite would probably damage the mudguard as you tried to get the extender off.

Mines Super glued on and its been on for three months!

My last two bikes have had the extendas glued on, 4 years in total and not a problem with either of them.
