For the past 2 days I've been trying to book a 6k mile service on my 1200GS......They won't return my calls..WTF? Do they have too much business?

I bought the bike form Park Lane in January, so figured I'd use their service department (I did for the 600 mile run in with no problems), but now I'm fed up. Does anyone else have this problem with these guys?

Who else in the area does anyone recommend? Bahnstormer is a possibility since I work in Basingstoke.

thanks

Yeah, I see he's in Putney....could be handy. Authorized BMW work? This is just a service on a new Bike....I'd do it myself if i wasn't living in a flat with no place to work on it. PLandto have the first services done by BMW to avoid an warrenty hassles.....probably silly but that's the current plan.

In fairness to Battersea, they have since called me back and set an appointment...shouldn't have taken 2 days though.

Am I surprised....of all the comments on this site about Battersea, yours is one of the substantial majority. My experience was the same and, as promised, I have never crossed the threshold again! It is the only response (along with posting your experience everywhere you can!).

Try to get in touch with Dean, their new manager. He is a top bloke. Was running the service dept of another dealer that I used.

By top bloke I mean ...

Treat you as with respect and willing to help you out beyond on the call of duty. I think he was hired to sort out the place and worth supporting!

Don't know about the rest of the staff.

Steady, hes a very good freind, very hard working and very conscientious.

I ran him 20 minutes ago and recalled this thread to him, he is mortified, hes been on a BMW course today and is back in monday.

He told me they recieive some 5,000 calls a week, and realise that calls aren`t being answered.

Next week he says a specail email address is being set up just for SERVICE Dept so that the emailer can leave his name and address etc.

Dean is a TOPBLOKE and no better person for his job.

If not liked st SPC this would have been of only one reason THAT HE IS VERY GOOD AT HIS JOB, and upsetting folks by turning things around.

I have known him for years, there is no one person that works harder for any boss.

Met Dean for the first time yesterday

V helpful

Seems OK to me.

How many 'new managers' have they had now in the service department. No disrespect to Dean (let's face it, the bunch of shaven monkeys that work there need a lot of sorting out) but they appear to go through service managers like they're going out of fashion.

I had the misfortune to have to go down there the other day - have you ever tried buying a 4amp fuse?

No idea about the people I didn't see but everyone I encountered could be best descrided as a bloody useless shower of shit.

I can, however, highly recommend Steptoe.

That wouldn't have been SPC would it?

If so, Dean wasn't 100% popular.

I'm sure there aren't many people around that are 100% popular.
Steve the Bakerman is spot on with his description on Dean. Having worked with him in the past, I can only say good things about him. I even enjoy the fact that he reminds me of Chucky from the RUGRATS.
Dean is a fantastic person and if anyone could do the impossible by making all BMW motorcycle customers happy, he could.
WE LOVE YOU DEAN:hug
