According to North Oxford BMW!

Ringing around for 36k service (theirs was £369, with gearbox and diff oil change)

Tried to blag a new engine cover as mine is fubared!! They said the silver engine covers are not going to be in the UK until December :eek

Think i'm going to go the hammerite route on mine, as doing searches most people say its actually a good match!

While i'm here and posting, what do other folks pay for their 36k mile service?

36,000 mile service

I paid £440 for the 36,000 mile service, with gearbox oil, but no diff oil change and no alternator drive belt change.

Game on...

considered black, but cheapest option and one that is likely to last the longest I think is hammerite!

Back to service costs, big :thumb2 to Cotswold BMW again.

North Oxford quoted £369 for 36k service, Cotswold £210 :D

Powder Coating cylinder head covers and crashbars??

I had a bit of a tumble on the weekend  bike toppled over with my partner on the bike full tank of fuel etc, we're ok, but sadly it scraped the crashbars and offside cylinderhead cover on the high kerb it fell against, (I have the grey covers) , thought I would enquire about how much the chrome covers were as I'd like to dress up the engine a bit anyway.. £400!! and I would still have to get crashbars painted.. does anyone here have experience with powder coating? I was thinking of getting the whole lot done in chrome powder coating.. waiting for a quote from a company as we speak..

When I can be bothered to remove my head covers, gonna chuck 'em down the paint line at work and get them powder coated satin black. Gotta be careful how hot the baking oven gets though, too hot can distort alloy parts according to our powder coaters.

Never heard of chrome powder coat, can't see how it would get its shine ??

Check it out on youtube.. its fancy, not as good as real chrome but hey!!

I had my engine and rocker covers replaced yesterday and they were only ordered the day before, so I doubt there are none available in the uk? Warranty job, 2010gsa 6k miles and they had dissolved, replaced without quibble, even they were shocked at the state of them.

Hmm - chrome covers on a GS.

Each to their own but I wouldn't myself - it'd look like some weird 1200C / GS mutant :eek
