Bike still not firing, found there is no fuel coming out of injectors. (Dont anyone ask!). Have a good spark.

I steamed it on Monday, any ideas?

Think it sounds ok. Fuel pumps out over the deck if I undo the hose. Can it be a wire? a relay or something that got wet after steaming it? I shot some easy start down her air box and she fired up... But thats it.

Check very carefully the wires going into the connector on the injectors, they can break.

A couple of possibilities
1.If one of the rubber bits inside the fuel tank were split it could still piss petrol all over the place when an external pipe was disconnected, but would not raise pressure enough to run.
2. Fuel pressure regulator knackered, I believe you can test by clamping return line temporarily.

Hi Jukin,

I'll be interested to see if you find an answer to this; I have the same problem on mine, or at least I had the last time I tried to fire it up.

Pump primes OK, and primes on/off as I turn her over by hand with the back wheel, so Hall Sensor sounds OK. There's preasure in the system; if I push the needle on the injector in by hand, I get a good jet/spray of fuel. I've tried a meter on the leads to the injectors, it should pulse as the signal fires, but nothing. Not sure what sort of valtage mind, maybe my meter isn't sensitive enough (Analogue).

DON'T try a continuity test; I seem to recall reading someting on here a few day ago about the nine volts from the meter being capable of frying the motronic. Maybe a more knowledgeable member could verify/refute this? Unfortunately I read this about eight months too late to stop me doing it.:blast :blast
Can't try mine again for a while, it's in too much a state of dismantlement, but as I say, I'll watch this space to see if you cure yours.

Good luck,

Dave.

I've got a similar problem so I wonder if this one was resolved.

Bike (98 1100GS) was parked in the garage and left for 6 days, and then wouldn't start. No symptoms beforehand.

Fuel pump is whirring and outputting 600mL/10secs which I think is within specification.
I've got fuel under pressure (not measured) at the injector inputs.
I've got volts going to the spark plugs as seen with my timing strobe.
There seems to be no new petrol on the spark plugs.
Three pin diagnostic plug has 0.5V on pin 1, 12V on pin 2 and 5V on pins 3. Don't see any pulsing on pin 1.
The pin 1 reading seems unusual so I've tried resetting the Motronic by pulling fuse 5 but to no effect. If the Motronic was FUBAR would I still get sparks?

Has anyone got any other ideas please?

Chris

Looks like I should be in the Hall sensor thread instead! Took the injectors off and there are puffs of petrol coming out. I'm getting pulses out of the diagnostic port (looks like I didn't earth pin 1 for long enough) and even after resetting the Motronic I'm getting Hall Sensor faults. The bike fired up yesterday but is lumpy and erratic.
