Hi fellow GSers

I own a 2000 1150 and i had no real problems up to now.(it has about 90000Km 20K of tHem done by me)> What happens is that after doing some distance with the throttle closed when i reopen it nothin happens for 1 or towo seconds and then it comes to life suddently like nothing happened....It does not happen always but it is always after a long decceleration with the throttle closed. I think it must be an electrical fault but o really do not know. Any ideas?

check seals on throttle bodies,
balancing the bodies may also help!!

That's my tuppence worth!
cheers,
P

Could it be the throttle positioning "re-setting" itself ? Bit like when you reove the battery -when you switch ignition back on you are supposed to wind the throttle open 2 or 3 times to tell the system about the max and min position.
Are you turning the ignition off on the downhill runs ? Or just trying to save some fuel ?? !

no i am no turning the ignition off just closing the throttle ..

is the bike in neutral or in gear - why are you riding like this ?? has the bike always done it, or has it just started ?

Try riding the bike properly. :nenau

Well maby my english is not very good ... I am not doing anything stange while riding i am just closing the throttle.. you know ... (it is in gear when this happens)

This happend to me two times, 3000kms ago. I changed the fuel filter. Now the bike is 118000kms, no problems.

Thanks
Raul

fuel filter ... hm maby i should change it after all..:augie

Must be the Greek Hills .....why not drop down a cog, and keep the engine revs up a bit ?

The revs are up the throttle is closed for exemple i am going into a corner with 1st gear and 60 Km brake.. and open the throttle after the apex ... but it is like i am out of gas

well mabu it is the fuel filter after all

Ignition cutout

Fuel filter possibly full of crap change it pronto.
