That's what I heard though there are loads of second hand ones for sale . So we now have THE NEW CLASSIC GS/GSA

Yes, got the standard invite to Motorrad Edinburgh for the release, but no mention of the new w/c GS.

BMW must be using a different release strategy in the UK. In the US the dealers are currently ordering and already receiving new 2013's and they're identical to the '12's. 
The story here is that the liquid cooled versions had several issues and the release was delayed until they could get them sorted. I don't know if that's true or not, but that's what I was told by a Denver Colorado dealer.

My understanding is that the models released on 1/9/12 are the C600/C650 scooters and F800/F700GS bikes. These were on display when I went to Gramish last month along with the new BMW 2013 model colour scheme's (lovely graphite black K1600GT on display). No mention of the new water cooled GS being released this side of Xmas and there isn't a GSA version of the new bike planned yet. There is a good promotion on the GS1200 at the moment, some think to clear stock for new bike but I think its as much a marketing ploy with the release of the new Triumph Explorer threatening sales (a lovely bike having test ridden one but not as good overall as my GSA). All speculation of course but the BMW guy's at Garmish were very helpful and upfront about everything.
That's how I understand it as well, but find it very strange that there are only a handful of 1200 GS builds available at the factory to order, and that once they are gone, you'll just have to wait until the new model, which nobody knows when that will be.
The GSA is still available to order though, as the replacement for that won't be until at least MY2014.
Re the current promotion, this has nothing to do with the offering from Triumph/ Honda/ Kawasaki etc, BMW are simply getting rid of all the old stock of accessories along with the bikes, to make way for the new model.

My prediction is the new model will be launched at the 2012 Cologne Bike show in October ready for general release next year.
So it seems that there are only a few left, before the new w/c model arrives. The replacement must be closer than we think, as BMW would be daft to wait months between models and do themselves out of sales.
Has somebody told you this or is it because of this post?

Yep, that post, and was talking to a few bods today. BMW obviously don't need the income generated from at least 3 months of 12gs sales.
I've no doubt a problem will arise if you want a spec other than one with both the Premuim & Dynamic packs as these are the 'built for stock' specs

The new water cooled GS range will be released at Intermot. Thank god for that, everyone can rush off to buy the new model and leave me in peace to continue enjoying my old 1200.

I'm sure they are, and probably a good alternative vs. the t-max, integra etc. I may even do a test ride one day who knows...
The nice man at CW says that the new GS is on the production line now and you would be hard pushed to find a new air cooled GS. Don't know about the GSA. So I reckon 4-5 months before we will see any based on nothing other than a rough arsed guess.
