no more 2610s at gpsw!!

2610 arrived today, very well packaged and all the kit looks in perfect condition. I did not order the bike kit as I think I will be fitting the unit above the clocks on my 1150 Adv, I was looking at the bracket from mottorad concepts and think that may be the one to go for, but for now I'll get the software loaded on the pc and try using it in the car. :) :)

Thats good to hear actually, hope my order will arrive earlyish next week, with a bit of luck!
I already have v8 of cn, so have been using that to creat routes for next trip....hope they will read across onto v9 as and when that arrives!

Has anyone who placed an order with GPSW last week got their goods?

I ordered the 2610 and motorcycle toys on Monday, got an emial on Tuesday saying they could not ship because Garmin had not sent CN v9, then almost immediately thereafter another email saying they are going to ship with CN v7.

Now a week later and still nothing from them :nenau

Anyone else or just me ?

Don't worry - It'll turn up.

I've never heard of one instance of GSPW goods not turning up through no fault of their own.

Nor me :thumb

Or give them a call (or pm RAM-Man...................)

Garmin 2610

I ordered one from GPSW on the 14th and it arrived on the 19th. As someone else mentioned I cannot tell it from new except for a sticker on the box which says "newly overhauled".:thumb
I did not order the bike package as I also fancy a Motorrad Concepts mount instead, and until I have the spare readies I will just get it set up and test it in the car. For £170.00 I am chuffed with this bit of kit. I tested it out during a trip in the car on Monday night and it took me straight to the middle of a housing estate where I had to drop something off. I would have struggled without it. My only other remaining question is what is the cheapest way to get simple audio into my ear, without expensive Autocoms etc?

Garmin do an ear piece/pad for about £30, have a look here

Jon & Steptoe .. Thanks for voice of support. Its now in the final phase, 2610 with bike bundles are done, so anyone waiting .. the wait will soon be over and its now the last of these units.

I have now had an email to say its on its way :D, now to learn the software   :nenau. TBH I never doubted it would not arrive I just replied to a question asked. I have ordered some ram stuff from them before with no problems, I may even be back for more as I think the bike kit I ordered may need modifying a little for me.

Nasty1, that was me:thumb2 Got my email yesterday too. Guess whatever the problem was has now been resolved.
With a title like "no more 2610s at gpsw!!" started feeling jumpy when the next-day delivery was taking over a week.
I am sure you have experinced this, you research your product, decide on what you want, place the order, then ...Where's my new toy ?

As you say, now comes the fun of learning how to use the software...

no more 2610s....well new ones anyway!
Well, email from gpsw yesterday saying "my" 2610 is despatched and guess what,a very nice delivery lady arrived on doorstep this morning..what a pleasant change from the normal "sign here pal" routine!!!
so goods delivered as promised, and apart from the label saying "refurbished" all looks like brand new!
total of 2 weeks from order to receipt, with emails along the way to keep me informed.... the only valid test of good service is when people actually deliver on what they promise and gpsw have provided good service, I will trust them with my business in future:thumb2

now all I have to do is read the manuals:augie and then start playing with my new toy....first on list is to find out if i can continue to use my existing installed version 8 cn and get garmin upgrade to cn9....should be easy job??

Cheapest way is an asda/tesco mobile phone single earpiece which has the small jack size on - i picked up one for about £1.39.
The trouble with in-ear earpieces is that they prevent the wearing of earplugs. I purchased some Creative Labs in-ear closed earphones for use with my Quest but, despite having 3 sets of silicone plugs of varying sizes, they didn't block enough noise. Reverted to one of these from Maplins for £5 and an extension lead which works well up to and above legal speeds whilst wearing earplugs. It fits under my helmet without un-due discomfort though your experience may vary depending on your ears and your lid. For Garmin audio with a 2.5mm jack you'll probably need to make up your own extension lead which is easy enough with bits sourced fro Maplins so long as you're half way competent with a soldering iron.
