Hi, took my bike (800gs) in for a service at a local independent last week for plug change, valve check etc (26000 mile service?).

I use the aux socket under the 'tank' plastic to power various bits and pieces (phone, helmet) through a home made BMW satnav power plug to 12v cigarette socket. Everything has been fine since instal last year.

After the service I have no power from under plastic aux plug and no power from the top tank socket (next to ignition).

I have checked with other plug in device (in case home made lead was at fault) still no power. I suspect the service mechanic forgot something when reassembling, or is there another problem. Any advice would be great. If its a quick fix i'll do it myself if not its back to the garage.

Cheers

My guess is that they removed the cover around the ignition switch, to get to the air filter, and just forgot to plug it back in.

A very simple job to check, 4 torx screws.

Not so simple I'm afraid. :nenau
both the plugs (the spare aux socket on top of the battery as well as the one connected to the hella socket on the 'tank' plastic) that are not supplying power.

thanks anyway :thumb

Dear All at UKGSer.....

I am an idiot :augie

A few more checks and the judicious use of a soldering iron and bits and bobs from the bits and bobs box and all is now snowy in the pond again.

Stoopid lead had a stoopid short....stoopid boy :hide
