Hi Fokes,

I am contemplating the new GSA and have downloaded the price list etc, however there is no price list for the standard GS.

Are they reviewing their pricing for 2015.

I have also 1/2 an eye on the S1000XR!

now what discount can one expect from a reputable motorrad dealer - the usual 10%

will the S1000XR attract the same? :blast

Most dealers should discount the GS or GSA, as it's been out for a while.:thumb

But, a discount on the XR, you've got no chance, unless you find a dealer that's desperate for the business, amd willing to get a MAJOR bollocking from BMW.

New GSA TE is £15,510. Also no accessories pricing on either main BMW site or dealer sites?

But the Euro has recently fallen. From £1 being Euro1.16 three years ago, to Euro1.24 a year ago or less, to the recent Euro1.34

So perhaps they will adjust their prices to reflect this. But don't hold your breath

Typical discounts I've received are usually 4-5% on new Bm bikes taking into account no px and cash purchase, Now the Xr, dealers have limited no of bikes and deposits are healthy so there's no discount at all, trust me I've tried. However I've got 10-15% on dealer extras as per the norm on items i buy.

Tbh i can see some bods having to wait till 2016 for the Xr because the dealers are having very limited no of bikes Pidcocks are having 25 for 2015 and i think Benhams are having 14 .

spot on there ,,if you place a deposit now for an XR you might get a cancelled order if some one does not want to proceed ,but if no one cancels your looking around late dec even jan 2016 ……this will be a completely different bike from a GS/GSA…they are a lot smaller and lighter …to get the feel of one try an S1000r for size. Most dealers will have demo models for the GS so go and try one .

Demo XR's are due around May. I have a test booked already with my local dealer

I may even sell my order before i even take delivery then, that way myself and the purchaser could benefit :)

This is what the Xr looks like in the real world .

The XR's are going to shift in more ways than one.
I am going to take a good hard look at this bike.
I predict a sell out.

Re lack of GS price. There is a glitch on their web page - if you click 'compare models', then the price option appears on the menu. Also gives a downloadable pdf.

A 2016 delivery on the s1000xr would be a bit hard to swallow considering its still jan 15! but it is a tasty looking machine. will see if I can get a guaranteed delivery otherwise its an upgrade on my trusty and sport bike embarrassing 09 GSA

luckily I also have a r1200s with WP (rear) and nitron (front) suspension ready to install so won't be short for a ride!
will see how that goes

The power train should be good but will BMW have learnt the lessons from the GSWC ref. out of spec subframes, poor quality switches etc. etc. Will it get twin dip and head lights instead of the now traditional and inadequate one of each.

I put money down on an S1000XR in NOV 14, the day I picked up my warranty replacement 15 GS. I just want the option of instant gratification if it can replace and improve upon the GS for my use which is mainly daily work commute in the city and weekend day trips. Some gravel and mild off road, not much though.

My dealer told me today that BMW are doing a low rate finance deal on all new G'S from the 1st of Feb 4.9%
