So, if I ride with the screen removed will it have any effect of what's normally behind it? For example, am I likely to damage the clocks etc when it rains?

Ta :thumby:

Same clocks as an HP2 and there's no screen on that :thumb2

I found it too breezy so bought one of these - Brill!

It's a Machine Art Slipscreen which used to be sold by Nippy Normans but doesn't seem to be avaiable any more which means about £80 plus postage from the US - or second-hand from me for a lot less if you're interested! :D

But why ??? Why no screen ??

A few people remove them for track days and when going off road as they can easily break. Mr Tickle and some others always removed their screens when going off road..

Also improves a bike stability in water, the second rider in the picture has taken precautions for just such a possibility.

Cheers Martyn, but I had a tiny one from a company near Alton and even when I cut, shaved and smoothed it down to almost nothing it wasn't as good as no screen at all.

The biggest snag with no screen is building up the deep neck muscles. If, like me, you already suffer from thoracic outlet nerve compression and forwards head posture the last thing you'll need is tight or bulky deep neck flexors.

On the other hand, head battering wind buffeting cannot be good for anyone's brain.

What's the "a lot less" figure??

Have sent you an email M8 :thumb

As for thebuyer's question "why?", two things. First is that I like the whole feel of the bike without the screen - it changes the dynamics completely. Not all the time and not in all seasons either. e.g. I don't fit it when I'm going on tours unless the weather is virtually guaranteed.

Second is that I like to give the bike a different look every now and then, it breaks the monotony of "oh dear, it's another GS/GSA (I've noticed that there's been a couple sold you know! :D)

But as I'm thinking of trading it in for either an LC or a S1000XR I could be minded to sell the small screen.

Haven't received anything from you Martyn.
