So, if I ride with the screen removed will it have any effect of what's normally behind it? For example, am I likely to damage the clocks etc when it rains?

But why ??? Why no screen ??

Reduces buffeting for one thing; cleanest airflow available.

It's a Machine Art Slipscreen which used to be sold by Nippy Normans but doesn't seem to be avaiable any more which means about £80 plus postage from the US - or second-hand from me for a lot less if you're interested!![]()
What's the "a lot less" figure??

As for thebuyer's question "why?", two things. First is that I like the whole feel of the bike without the screen - it changes the dynamics completely. Not all the time and not in all seasons either. e.g. I don't fit it when I'm going on tours unless the weather is virtually guaranteed.
Second is that I like to give the bike a different look every now and then, it breaks the monotony of "oh dear, it's another GS/GSA (I've noticed that there's been a couple sold you know!)
But as I'm thinking of trading it in for either an LC or a S1000XR I could be minded to sell the small screen.
The biggest snag with no screen is building up the deep neck muscles.
