noise from under the tank!!

Hello all,
i am new to the GS world having ridden husky's and jap bikes prior to this bm,but i'm getting paranoid about a noise i've heard!it may have been there all the time i'm not sure.
When the ignition is turned on you can here a whirring sound well its that sound that i can hear whilst the bike is running,if i listen next to the tank i can hear it,someone on the bm site told me its the fuel pump-is it normal?
please help me!!!

Yes.........normal, it's either fuel pump or the Brake servo pump (if your bike has Servo ABS brakes)

Of course it could also be mice ! Did you park in any fields recently ?

You should try riding it without a helmet through an underground garage. The noises you will hear will make you think the bike is falling to bits!

I think its a 'They all do that Sir' moment.

That's why we all wear ear plugs!

Now you're being silly. Mice would make a noise whether the ignition was on or not.
