Work just gave me one of these.

It is exactly what I've been looking for in a phone.

Simple looking, not too chavy.

Buttons that feel positive.

Simple user interface.

Small but still usable with porky fingers like mine.

Bluetooth for my car kit.

Decent stills and video camera.

SD card memory slot.

Clear screen.

Plays MP3's and has a radio with headphones.

If they hadn't given it me I'd of bought one.

Blimey, i've got one of those -

i didn't know it did all of that blueteeth Simple user interface stuff

Hey that's my phone as well. Cracking phone, battery lasts for ages and takes MMC cards if you want to use it for an MP3 player. There is an attachment to allow use of ordinary headphones (costs about £11, but loses the handsfree talk facility). I've yet to manage to configure it as a bluetooth modem for the laptop though.

Had the same problem Andy, couldn't download photos. I then bought a download lead but that wouldn't work either.

Have now found the very simple way of doing it, and without any cost. Move the images to the memory card then remove the memory card and shove it into a card reader on the PC. :)

Just bought one of these from Dial A Phone £5 pm line rental for 12months (12 month contract). Pay £25 pm , cash back every 3 months. Next day delivery by Royal Mail. Seems like a good deal! They also do a £20 cash payment to me if I recommend someone, so if anyone fancies one pm me for my details and I get £20.

Ah you missunderstand, the bluetooth connects to the laptop, a Mac using PhoneDirector software, really well and I can transfer music, pictures etc easily. However it's using it to make an internet connection that is foxing me. Another peice of software, BluePhoneElite, sends and monitors SMS messages from the desktop using the phone so a connection can be made but its getting the phone to connect more directly, for example to an ISP, that is proving difficult. Still a great phone though.

Car kits

I have the 6230i, previously the 6230. One word of advice to anyone considering a nokia bluetooth car kit... choose carefully, the 610 is only compatible with 3 phones whereas the newer car kit (only just newer) has loads more phones to choose from...

just my two penneth.

Mobile fones,,,

yawn.....

Life is exciting....

Oh dear....let's hazard a guess as to which little ray of sunshine can't get any signal in the remote and uncivilised backwater that he now calls home shall we

;) :D

Mine sends to and recieves music, pics, videos etc using Bluetooth to connect to my Apple iBook via a USB Bluetooth adaptor and the standard Apple Bluetooth File Exchange software. My old Nokia worked as a modem in the same way once the Orange Apple (!) expert told me how to set it up. haven't tried with this one. Good phone.

Don't wish to piss on yer bonfire, but, I had one of these from work, lost it over the weekend, and have just had delivered yesterday a new fone. O2 business unit who supply our phones saidthe 6230 was obsolete and sent me the "newer model" which is much nicer to use. You're right about the car kit tho', the new fone ( 6020) will work in the cradle but won't clip in.

My personal fone is a siemens SL 65 and is really useless. All style over function.Tiny battery life and hard to use.Last time I listen to a teenager!!!!!

I currently have MP3 and phone seperate and would be interested to combine through my bike intercom using the phones functionality.

Anyone hooked theirs up to an Autocom?
