 I have owned a Nolan N102 flip front helmet for about 9 months and found it to be an excellent bit of kit However, I have not ridden much above 80mph, mainly on a 650 Pegasso with a high screen.

Just changed bike to an 1100S B'mer with high bars and screen. Now I am getting buffeting about 80.

Went up to the ton on a quick blast and the buffeting became very extreme and it was very worrying. Went down to 70 and all was fine. Back up to 80plus and the buffeting was back with a vengance!

Has any other Nolan owner had a similar problem?

No.... but I found my slab sided Simpson Bandit to be buffeting free in comparison with my Caberg Justissimo...:nenau

What makes you think it's the helmet and not the bike? (the GS is renowned for buffeting! see 'Tobinators')

don't want to come across all I know everything, but would recommend if have the sensation of a wobble which you don't like slow down!

Secondly it's a big situp bike they all wobble and skip around if it's windy which on motorways is pretty always the case. Also they can act like a sail in high wind, got over taken by a pan european coming back from the lakes few months ago. In all the rough weather and the wind took him out of the fast lane and more or less onto the hard shoulder. (matey almost cr4pped himself I think)

The contact patches on the on the tyres (bit touching the road) are only about the size of cigarette packets!

Imaging your standing on the top of a big hill on one leg with an 80+ mph whistling past your going to wobble about, never change more than 2 things at a time. It makes it hard to see or feel the difference, would recommend slowing down, then do some riding where you tuck yourself more behind the screen to be more within the space covered by the screen.

See if that makes a difference best of luck.

Mine older model N100E tested up to max speed of R1100GS (which is faster than the 1150 btw :) ), around 205kph indicated, so realistic around 120mph, no wobble what so ever.

So the only reason can be a created turbulence from your wind screen. Sort it out.

Ride safe, Margus :beerjug:

It's a screen option, not the helmet. I have an N com and have no issues on the 1150.

Buffeting is a major gripe with the GS's and there are various views on improving it/stopping it. I guess Tobinators will be the solution for you, or certainly a good place to start.:thumb2
