Has anyone here got the new Nolan N103. I want a new lid and want a flip front with a built in sun visor. I would go for the Multitech but no sun visor. Any bad things about the Nolan ???

I have the older Nolan and would recommend you spend a bit more :thumb

Build quality is a bit Pish IMHO.

I've one for sale

Got one for sale, in vgc, size XXL in silver, model 102, comes with all the bloo tooth kit, as new, worn once by me, I'm a open face lid man, would cost you £350 to buy in Hi/Gerecki (never could spell dat!), looking for in the region of £200, would swap for something? W.H.Y. got? Regards Dusan

Bought a nolan n103 at the London bike show,I find it very comfortable, a little bit noisy at high speed, very useful dark visor, however what drives me insane is the clear visor will not stay in the lower vent position or in the uppermost open position at speeds over 35-40 mph,I intend to take this up with Nolan,(I met a paramedic in Portsmouth who complained of the same problem) otherwise, not a bad lid,for the price,Dave.

Buy a Multi tec, wear sunglasses. I have an x lite 901. Supposedly the same company, on my second lining in a year and I've only managed about 8k last year so not the best quality. Both forward vents have fallen off and I will never buy another novelty lid again.

Just bought one and only done a few miles so here are first impressions.

Fit me very well and feels comfy. Visor and shade work fine and stay in place OK but I do have a GSA screen. Its easy to open and close the front.

Plenty of ventilation and has an anti-mist insert already fitted.

It is quieter than my full face Shuberth and thats up to 90mph. Tried it behind lorries etc to make sure I got turbulence and it was still good.

Dunno if it will last and how strong the fittings are but they seem fine and are completly changed from the last model (I was told).

It has cutouts in the foam for speakers by the ears and a neat aperture at the bottom of the collar for wires to drop out to connect to the bike. It comes ready to fit headset etc it seems. Nice.:)

Overall I am happy right now with my first open face lid especially at £210.

Well after a lot of thought ive bought one.
The Schuberth was to expensive and had no sun visor.
The Caberg looked like it will let the rain in like my current one does.
The Shoei would have won if it had the sun visor.

The Nolan has eveything and is quite cheap so we will see how it goes.

The first question is do you REALLY need a flip helmet?
I went through the whole, what make, model what's the best out there Blah, Blah, Blah !

In the end I reached DEEP into my pockets and went for a BMW System 5. More money than almost any other flip but suposedly the best for noise levels and quality.
NOISE LEVELS ! Blimey. In short a flip helmet, ANY flip helmet will be noisy, mainly due to it's inherent 'hinged' design, and if anyone tells you different I suggest they try a half decent full face.

My System 5 stayed at home in it's box whilst my 6 year old Shoe Raid enjoyed 3000 Miles of european touring!:thumb
