Hi..i currently wear Nolan N43 and N44 in size medium,I want to buy a Shoei J Cruise 2 online and wondering would the sizing be the same..seem to remember the shoei Large was Nolan medium,I live a long long way away from dealers so cant pop in and try..advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks

I have the Shoei. I can’t tell you how it compares to a Nolan but I can say it’s true to size as a large. I can also say it’s very comfortable and I prefer it to my other full face helmet.

I know you're a long way from a dealer.

For me the whole point of buying a Shoei from a decent dealer is that they will supply and fit the appropriate padding for headband and cheekpads for nothing while you are in the shop. Once out of the shop one has to pay for the pads.

I went from a Nolan N43 to the original J-Cruise.
I would say that the sizing is the same.
However, there was a clear difference in internal shape.
The N43 was round side of neutral and fitted me perfectly.
The Shoei was an extremely well made helmet.
However, despite Shoei telling me that there is no such thing as a Shoei shaped head ,there clearly is, and I don't have one.
The J-Cruise was a much narrower shape and despite trying various pad options there was no way that it was comfortable for more than half an hour or so.
I ended up buying a Grex G4.2 Pro which is basically an Nolan N43.
Though not as well made as the Shoei it fits me perfectly which is the most important thing.
Hope this helps.

I had a (Nolan) X-lite X551-GT in large with standard lining/cheek pads.

Decided to upgrade to a Shoei Neotec 2 as I always fancied a flip up & the reviews all pointed to this one. I did go for a fitting at Motolegends & ended up with a large & again, with standard lining/cheek pads. I'm really pleased with how the Shoei fits/feels/performs.....probably the best helmet I've ever owned.

As mentioned in a previous thread, visiting a dealer for a fitting means you can change the internals FOC on the spot for the 'perfect' fit.
