Non ABS version!

Would it be safe to assume that the non ABS version will be cheaper or should I just go and boil my head now?

I quite like the idea of having ABS even if I decide to turn it off. I expect it will also make it easier to sell on in the future, even with 100,000 + on the clock.

Yes you can be sure it will be cheaper probably around £8500.Andy

Was in Noth Oxford BMW on Friday - was told that there was no date on the non ABS version - apparently with the backlog of the more expensive ABS 1200 they are looking to fill these orders before contemplating the cheaper option.

Surely this is one of the enticing features for owning a GS? It's the best ABS out there and if you don't like it, switching it off is simple. Personally I'd rather be seen as a wuss but still keep the bike rubber side down...

Non ABS date

Hi,

Local Dealer told me on Saturday NON ABS due in September according to BM..............but suprise, suprise he has now been informed its going to be Jan "05" according to BM.

Also said £300 extra in Jan i.e. now £8500 in Jan £8,800. Quote was with heated grips and just painner rails.

I was told that an order for June, '05 should probably be available as non-ABS.

Also expect a price hike in January of circa 5% - but no promises!

Have also formally requested feedback on black engine option - perhaps if enough interested soles put their requests in writing to Mr BM they might listen????

this is correct, my dealer mentioned it when i ordered my 12gs first week of june.

non abs version SHOULD be available my 2005, so from 1 september. this according to bmw press article. the non abs version is mentioned on the german bmw website.
