Sorry to bring this up as I know its been covered before many times, but can anyone give me the details of the guy who used to work as service manager for one of the big southern dealers who is now an indie service guy based somewhere around the north of the M25 ? I am based in Caterham, Surrey, and have used SLM since 2004, but with all the recent changes there, plus the ripoff price last service, I want a good indie within 50 miles or so. My bike is a totally thrashed 28k miler 04' 1200 with everything possible done to increase power, and I have loved it since new. It just gets quicker and smoother each year. Best bike I have had in 25 years of thrashing anything/everthing with 2 wheels. Any other service guys you can recommend would be most welcome. Thanks.

There is the bod who used to work for Cannon, in Chelmsford, if he is still going.

If I remember correctly he is based near Regina Road, so not far away from where Cannon's shop used to be.

You can also try our own, Steptoe, too. http://gsshop.biz/

Or Steve Grover - Motoscot in Caddington nr Luton, used to be a BMW tech at Slocomes Neasden.

I know that Mark Holden has a bit of a following. I'll be using him when finally out of warranty or any mods.

Oh, and welcome to the site :thumb2

Reids Motorcycles. Called for an estimate before Christmas and he was still going then.

Well I went to Brian Giles in Pembury. I got my bike back today. A full 24k service plus an annual service. After an uninterupted main dealer history, I was delighted at the fully proffesional way Brian works. A very impressive garage, free loan bike (BMW), and about half the cost of my local main agent. The ride home was a revalation - my bike felt so smooth, and the gear change was silky. I thought it was fine when it went in, but clearly it needed a service. I have never really noticed much of a change after a sevice at my local dealer. I would have no hesitatation in recommending Brian, and will be using him in future for all my maintainance and servicing. Thanks for the info.

another :thumb2 for Brian Giles, who fixed my clutch when it started sticking on the splines.
