Anyone got any experience with non-OEM stick coils such as the Beru ZS385? I've also seen them branded as Profes. They look identical but are available from Germany for less than what UK retailers sell.
just done a quick search on those ,and it seems they are 1mm shorter than genuine bmw coil sticks
would that matter ,i would not of thought so .
when mine went on of my r1150 rockster i did my best to find an equivalent in bosch ,as i work in the motor trade and bosch would have been easy to get a hold of from my supplier ,but to no avail so i had to buy some from motorworks .
If Fizzer is right about the length then get the verniers out and check the oem sticks. The connector at the end of the stick is very close to the rocker cover. A shorter stick might foul on it and prevent it seating properly onto the plug.
The MW offering is obviously not an oem item so they must have found a source...so it's worth hunting for. Would be good to find a cheaper alternative. They're painfully expensive
I was wondering whether that was the case. Given this model number seems to bring up a couple of different brands it wouldn't surprise me if that's what they're selling. They can be had off eBay in Germany for around £60-70 but there is an auction where they're £45 plus delivery which is quite tempting unless there's horror stories about them.
I've read of people having to remove the rubber seal and install them on coil sticks supplied by Motorworks that came without them. The only issue is on the BMWs there are points that stick out and hold the rubber seal in place but they don't feature on the MW ones.

That was me. The old rubber pulls off the old one no problem. Note is orientation though when you refit. There is a key way in the rocker cover that corresponds to the key on the rubber.
That photo by the way looks identical to the MW item I bought recently.
