Can you get the MPH to display anywhere?.. I'm finding due to the size of the numbers on the speedo clock, I need a second or two to focus before I can read the speed (not good at speed or just taking your eyes off the road)... I find I always use the LCD display in my Land Rover instead of looking at the needle.
Would be good if I could do this... or is the Pro needed to get speed displayed?

If not I need a trip to Specsavers to get some glasses with magnification just at the bottom :)

There was an article in vmcc about bifocals and varifocals.

Measure distance from clocks when you're sitting on your bike, then get the bottom bit set for that distance. Most bottom parts are set for focus at reading distance which can be 50% shorter than you require.

average.. yes.. but I'm sure I don't get actual MPH?

So it says '' with on-board computer pro''... looks like this gives you additional Volts / Stopwatch / MPH now / Fuel now (the last two I have but average).. so maybe this i swhy is was not specified?

but is there a way the none-pro system can do it?... I'm guessing not...

Think that is why they sell the option "on-board computer pro" think you can only get average speed beaver, you need to trade up...............:D

No.. glasses will be cheaper :Motomartin

Just get a cheap Nav5

Thats a contradiction.. they don't exists :)

TBH I never wanted lots of tech on the bike.. too much to distract you IMO... But it would be handy to see the speed ;)

The speedo is crap. I can't read mine without squinting. So the MPH display is always selected on my Computer Pro.

Whadabout a speedo app for your phone and stick it in a waterproof case on the bars?

I have bifocals with the bottom bit at intermediate distance which fixes the eyesight problem, but I still think the clocks need a good staring at (far longer than is safe as you suggest) to interpret. A glance just doesn't do it accurately enough for today's non-instinctive speed limits. I took the Nav V route which fixed it for me, but I wonder whether there's a cheaper digital gps speed readout available on ebay or somewhere which you could stick somewhere convenient?

Know I've said it before.. not just this, however, what does a Pro chip cost over a std one? (nothing in real terms).. but, if you want the engine paint to last, you can buy a front extender... if you want the seat to be usable, you can buy a comfort one.. if you want a usable screen BMW will sell you this...
On anything costing £15K up I'm sure you should expect a lot of this anyway..... I hate this culture of 'if you want it to work as we promote it'.. then you need to buy all these add-on's :)

beaver tell me Harley is any different, the problem is not the builders, the problem is ourselves never happy........

I know you can get 'bling' for HD.. but the bike is usualy what it is... BMW do like to charge you twice to get it right?

even with nav 5 or 6 mph wont display unless you have computer pro,

Er, not entirely correct, old chum. The bike's speed may not appear on the bike data screen, but the GPS speed can be displayed when the map is displayed. That's how I use it. When abroad, I switch the Nav V units to kph and get my continental speed.

one would " assume " the op wants the large speed only feature you get with comp pro and a nav 5 or six but whatever,
speed on the map isn't exactly huge is it?
