Norfolk Roads and Lanes

Me too?

Hi Ralph

Is it OK if I come along too?

I'll be coming up from near Bury St Edmunds and I'll be on my R100GS. Like Noddy I'm not too keen on off-roading in heavy rain though, but I'd call you on your mobile if for some reason I'm not coming.

Cheers
Ray

But you're so good at it :D :D

Ahh, you must not be so impatient young glasshopper, a few more ressons and you will be as glacefull as the water buffalo and be as one with the liquid element. :nod :nod

Ray
Your more than welcome.

With regard to the rain I'll only call it off if its really yuck.

If it rains all week we may have to re-assess the fords and some of the woods but there are ways around all of them.

The only condition is if anyone does know anything about off-road riding they dont laugh to much or come out with the old 'you didn't want to do thet did you?' after I fall over

Chill Ralf........... Be calm........... Let your inner power rule you.

We are all off road virgins like you.......we all started slip sliding once.

Have no fear of the truth of Kodak, Cannon, Sony. Fugi. Nikon, Minolta, Pentax, Panasonic, Ixus, Olympus, Sigfma, Konika, Lica and all the others I can't remember.

If you do it, they will capture it :thumb

I have them on mine (although getting worn now) if it's not too wet/muddy they should be fine... :)

I'm due to get a new front Tourance fitted on Saturday so I may be a gurl and cry off this one :ymca

I am calm, focussed and tranquil........

......I just dont want to be wet, muddy, miserable and horizontal!

Seriously though, if its teeming down with rain the open track will just be miserable because there will be nothing to see and there will be nowhere comfortable to sit and have our sarnies in the woods. So it probably wouldn't be worth it.

However, weather forecast for Sunday is sunny periods with some rain on Friday & Saturday which should make it more interesting. So we have an 80% cahnce of it being okay on the day.

I have anakees on mine with about 2000 miles wear. I dont expect them to be any better off-road than the tourances so as long as your game for a laugh come along.

Twotter
New front tyre= maximum tread depth=just what you need off road?

So the list so far is:
Scottie
Benem
Marcus
Tricky
Polarbear
Noddy?
Rays
Sniper
Pearcy (GSClub forum)=maybe
Me+1

Grand total= 10 or 11(not bad)

If nothing else the numbers are rising and it should be a good spectacle in the McDonalds car park.

I shall aim to be in the car park for 10:00 with a view to leave no earlier than 10:30. So if your not there by then we may have left. If your running late and want us to wait ring me before 10:20.

PS
Just bought a quest to help navigate.

Ive just got to figure out how to transfer and off-road route into it and fix it somehow on the bike so I can see it..

Cant afford the proper mount just yet so it will probably be tie wrapped to the instrument bar on some foam (I knew all that expensive engineering training would come in handy one day) ;)

Once ive transferred the route from memory-map to mapsource I'll see if I can post it here for anyone else to use (but dont hold your breath!).

Ignore him Ralph, he's only jealous

Ok, ok, thats brilliant. You win. :hapybnce: Where did you find that little chap ? I've been looking for something like him for ages.

Oh and thanks for dropping the stuff off, I got back about 1915 but knew you'd been. Evidence of rooster tails along the track and front bus park/garden. :D :D :D

Ignore who?

Weather loks like it could possibly be dry with slight showers intermixed with sunny periods so looks like its a goer. :thumb

See you all in the morning :)

Okay. Dont laugh at me if Ive got this wrong but here is what I have loaded on the quest for tomorrow.

The track was transferred from memory-map to the quest then to mapsource hence the slight mismatch with the roads.

Anyway here it is. We'll see how good it is tomorrow.
