Normandy (not an event!!!)

We are booked to go to SW Normandy in September for a few days..... has anyone had experience of trail riding in the area?
Cant make my mind up as to take the car with bicycles (and maybe the golf clubs) or the van with the KTM in the back......
Any experience of the area.... good or bad.
Will post this in 'travel' section too.

Trailered off road bikes down to Normandy a couple of years ago. Based our selves in small village of Pont Doiully near Falais. Bought Series Blue maps from a place on the web called The Map Shop although these maps are also available in French shops. Spoke to some locals riders who indicated no problems with locals and fair do's everyone we met were very bike friendly. Rode sections of GR36 (ancient trackways I think) and the local PR's. Had great time and didn't open a gate for a week. Will def' go again.
