Anyone else seen this initiative, the NC500? aim is to launch this as an Scottish version of Route 66, I've booked a similar route at end of May, from North a West up to Aveimore, then Anti-clockwise lap up over Black Isle to Scrabster and around.bthey are launching the initiative from Inverness soon,

Not sure what the initiative actually does.......... the roads are there already, and being enjoyed by bikists.

So - promoting it will do nothing but harm what exists, in my opinion.

Sure - a few nice coffee/snack places wouldn't go amiss, but the trade required to make them viable - would ruin the roads (for bikists). The craft shop/coffee shop at Achnasheen is gone (and it was pretty good).
