Based on yesterday and if you have the choice, go knobbly - a few short sections were a bit muddy. But the trails can change quite quickly depending on the weather. This time of year a few days of decent sun and you'd sail round on road tyres without problems.

Anyway, I managed to stall the bike in a deep puddle behind The Rookery and the old girl just won't start when it's sitting in water. What's more, it the second time I've managed to stall it at exactly the same spot.
Push it out of the water and it starts fine.
The carb has two pairs of breathing tubes - both run down to the usual area under the engine. I guess that when stalled both pairs of tubes suck water back up towards the carb. So I've now rerouted one of each pair of tubes up to the headstock. That should now sort the problem.

As the longer evenings will be with us, we'll run a trail ride this evening - some gentle green lanes and maybe some wetting of feet! More details to follow.

The rideability of the route will depend on the weather in the days leading up to the rideout but I would hope to be back at Whitewebbs somewhere between 8 and 8.30pm.

Don't like the look of the weather forecast though. I only have an option of trail attacks. Not sure they are up to loads of Mud
. PhysioJo is doing emergency babysitting whilst a friend goes to a child behaviour course
so will not be gracing us with her presence. The emphasis my will be on sitting on this particular babySee you at the pub in Newgate.

The trails were reasonably firm when we checked them a couple of weeks ago and since then it’s hardly rained.
With only light rain forecast for tomorrow the trails will only get really wet on Thursday. Whilst these things are always difficult to predict, you may find that the trails are not too slippery.
