North of Spain Rally 2022

Booking is now open

The Colombres rally is quite a lot cheaper than the NOS rally, because there is a wide er choice of hotels.
We stay at the Canal, which is cheap as chips and close to a choice of restaurants and Cafes.

Looks like I will be taking the 90/6 or possibly the Venom.

Expect to cover around 1000 miles during the week, after reaching your choice of Port.

The Discount codes 5% for Brittany Ferries should be released after bookings confirmed.

It’s a great event.

Hope they release the discount code soon as Brittany Ferries are offering a free upgrade to flexible if you book before the end of the month.
Has Canal got secure bike parking ?

Steve, it's herd immunity. There are so many bikes there of all nationalities they seem to look after each other. But I padlocked mine up each night.

Gents I’ve been lurking and watching this thread with interest as I really fancy doing one of these events, to the extent where I’m thinking of buying another (older) bike so I can do it 😁

Steve, just booked for Colombres. Hope you get a better hotel than last year! A bit of a billy-no-mates location that was! I'm hoping to get back in the Canal.
Yes it was a bit out of the way.
Booked the ferry and got the free, flex upgrade both ways
Apparently La Parra and Mirador booked up within hours so just waiting to hear back from them about Canal

I throughly enjoyed the Moto piston rally in 2011. Unfortunately the picture host is no more so some of the ‘humorous’ posts i.e. the laughing boxes/extension lead/lip balm and Labia etc :D might not make sense https://www.ukgser.com/community/threads/new-boots-and-pants-to-los-pistoneros-pour-favour.175180/

La Quinta is a lovely place, in a quiet village 4km south of Colombres. Great breakfasts! And a bar. When we stayed there in 2021 they weren't doing evening meals; hopefully that's changed. But really, the accommodation is a much better quality than most of the rest. Enjoy, and see you there - I am going to be in the Canal, Unquera. Which bikes will you be all riding?

Not going to make it this year, my bikes are too young. But I’ve just acquired this one so hopefully I’ll have it ready for next year. Have a great time gents and post some photo’sIMG_1523.jpeg

Much appreciated.....
Good to hear La Quinta is OK 👍
Look fwd to having a beer or 2 with you 🤔
I'll be on my fully restored PD built in 86.
Tim is borrowing my early Paralever GS.
Steve will be on his 750/5
Cheers Ian

Thinking of taking my PD 1986 as well

Hi Gents

I was hoping to do one of these rally’s but my bike is a year too new 1989 and it’s well sorted so don’t really want to sell it to do a rally especially as is did a great weeks tour of Northern France earlier this year.

Does anyone have the road maps from a previous year NOS or Colombres as the hub and spoke idea for a 140 mile ride every day seems great and assume the rally will have hooked all the best routes.

Thanks Simon

Of the two rallies I believe the Colombres is for slightly older bikes than the NOS. I have been a casual observer of both and think the NOS is less likely to be fussed about your bike being a year too young?

The NoS and Colombres both have the same age limits. The Moto Piston Rally organised by another club has an older age limit. MC Indianos who organise the NoS are very friendly and are slightly flexible on age limits for appropriate bikes. The last one we did, a friend had a late issue with one his bikes and they were fine with him doing the rally on his 1990 paralever R80GS.

Doing the NOS this year (first time!). Look out for a Lincoln green over silver 500 Triumph - my mate on a blue A10 (probably)
Would be feeling more confident if I was on my 1992 GS!
