North Wales trail ride - Saturday 28th March. (pogo only)

I'll give you some pointers...... the first one will be to get ride of those sh!te TKC80 tyres. There is a wide selection of skins available for the wheel sizes fitted to the DR350, the TKC would of been my last choice.

Timpo.

Thanks for that & thanks for the recommendation via pm. :thumb2

Definitely more grip today but it was a lot drier than last time too. I could ride out of shallow ruts whereas last time there was no way & I had to put a foot down to stop going arse over tit. Confidence was high today & I even got into 3rd gear on a few occasions.

Cheers Timpo.

Can't beleive how quickly they wear too, only did about 100 sedate miles & I can pull bits of rubber off & roll it between my fingers!

..& the vibration, are you familiar with Led Zeppelin's 'Down By The Seaside'? I was humming the guitar melody & the tremelo at 60 mph is spot on! :)

Hi Tmpo,

Looks like I'm going to have to stay south next weekend so my place is now free.

It's a shame it would have been good to to compare the XC to the Arhead on your trails.

Have a good one.

Tinatrim will be tailending.:thumb2

Meeting at Gas Lane, Mold at 0830hrs, we will depart on the ride at 0900hrs prompt.
The route will have a breakfast stop at Ruthin.

You will need to carry spare tubes and bike specific tools to change a punctured tube.
Your tyres will need to be of at least MT21 standard.
Depending on rain fall, any fords will about 300mm deep, though I may include the Corwen Carwash, which can get a little deeper......:augie
Bring your cameras as there are plenty of opportunities for pics en-route.

Any questions?

Timpo.

What sort of mileages can we expect between fill-ups? I assume I won't need my reserve can.

How long can we expect the day to be?

Timpo,
You mentioned on my newbie post that the trail from Mold to Dolgellau was one of yours, we haven't actually got a set route and we were going to wing it. We have several different route and we were just going to patch these together and hopefully end up in Dolgellau. I have read the different post for your trails but have you got a set of direction or gps track for your trail?
Thanks,
JAK..

Sorry mate no, I don't use GPS.
I have all the routes in my head from visiting county offices and learning the roads.
Depending on how groups are shaping I can alter the routes to suit.
Funnily enough there is a small article in this month's 'TRAIL', the TRF's monthly mag, about quads. Why don't you contact Mark Williams ( [email protected] ) and let him know about your green lane usage and intentions. You never know, there maybe irons in the fire about quad affiliation with the TRF.

Regards.:thumb2

Now get on the Throttle Monkey website and then you can use the Virtual Peaks TRF site in there. The Admin will want your membership number and once cleared you can join the many runs organised in there. It saves you having to attend a monthly meeting to find the runs out.

Timpo.
