Went to the North Wales TRF meeting for the first time last night.
It's very informal with no real agenda. The chairman spent some time talking to me and 2 other new members, setting up a ride and inviting us along. Unfortunately for me its on the same day as my sons sixth birthday party and my wife will put up with a lot but divorce would certainly be the consequence of that one.
I had to leave early to go to work but cannot fault the welcome to a newbie.
It seems like a good place for someone like myself, who is new to the area, to go and meet people with a similar interest.
I did resist the temptation to ask the chairman for a look at his maps
Right where are those maps lets have a look for some lanes :thumb

I used to attend regularly but have been for a couple of years :o but did intend to go to last night meeting, honest.

A great buch of guys, bad luck about the timing for your ride with them :nenau

There probably would have been another couple of rides posted during the night but I had to leave early. No real worries it will all fall into place with time.
:beerjug:

I@m going to the next one in January ...because i like spending my time on the welsh hills :D

Heh, I usually go along to TRF but didn't go this month, shame on me!

So, Hew, you planning on taking your GS out on the lanes? :D

Of course, it was riding the GS along lanes such as the Wayfarer that has got me into it. As several others on this site have found as the bug starts to take hold I started to want to tackle the rougher tracks without completely wreaking myself and the GS.
I'm just trying to decide now if the next set of tyres that go on the GS are going to be Tourance or Heidis.

If you're gonna go out round N Wales much at this time of year, I'd recommend TKC80s or Karoos. The Karoos are not great on the tarmac, if you only have one set of wheels you can't go wrong with TKCs :)

I'll try and get to the January meeting, maybe we can plan a big bike trip out.

I am planning to go to the meeting next month but won't be there until later approx 10pm. The GS is on road only now until April ish. I'm knackered enough picking the KLX up.
Look forward to meeting you.
