hi everyone

I am taking an unexpected break up to north west Scotland in a day or so, any advice on recommended bed and breakfast/hotels anywhere in the loch carron/applecross sort of area or would be most welcome.i,m not looking at 5 star acommodation, just something clean and basic,

regards to all

Take a look at my recent Lakes & Lochs post. We stayed at a great place just over the bridge on Skye. Fairly basic but good food and live music in the evening too.

Ah b*gger, sorry I missed this until now.

For future reference though, Strathcarron Hotel is good, owner Andrew rides and is an all round decent sort.

Routes? Well there really aren't that many! That's the attraction of the area in a sense. You can go for tens of miles, and never see a soul. Suggest you get a decent map, get up there and explore for a few days. It's all good, as they say!
