A group of us are planning a short trip in April/May around the top of Northern Ireland Camping probably. Has anyone got any can't miss recommendations, apart from the Antrim Coast road, Giants causeway etc?
Also any recommended campsites who would welcome 1/2 a dozen GS's and a Triumph!
Preferably near a beach.
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris you guys should check out Malin Head its been in loads of movies and is a great wee run for the GS,s. Take the ferry from Magilligan Point and have fun .:aidan

Theres a campsite in Cushendun near the beach and make sure you take the Torr Road round Fair Head while you're there.

Hi Chris, yeah, definitely go to Torr Head and the coast road. There are plenty of campsites etc around there and you can easily wild camp there too. If David Gibson chips in he can give you the co-ords of a beautiful spot we've stayed at up there.

Also, our family have some land by the sea near Donaghadee (stunning spot 14 miles east of Belfast looking over the Copeland islands) here: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?ll=54...01681,0.004823&t=h&z=18&lci=com.panoramio.all

If you want to stay there for a night or two, I can throw you the key for the gate and you guys can pitch your tents there. Grace Neills, allegedly 'Ireland's oldest pub' (along with the other 8) is a short journey away and has good music/food and a great atmosphere at weekends.

Anyway, just an idea...

Forget what Si says, sure what would he know as he lives on the Scampi Belt, the North Coast is far better, try these co-ords

A couple of pics of a great campsite, doesn't cost a penny, just call in at the farm above and tell them you camping there. They'll not object as long as you leave just your foot prints. The red area is the ideal spot.

Thanks Phil.

Should have said that the second pic is the actual site for pitching the tents. Plenty of dead wood lying about for a wee fire.

Ireland trip

Thanks to you all for giving me some great ideas. We will be traveling north from Larne. Hoping to explore the North and North West coasts. Wild camping will definitely be on the agenda.
Cheers
Chris
