Synopsis;

Suppose I've just installed a new drive in my pc.

Imagine that I've installed everything, including my copy of Norton 2003, which was due to expire in Feb 2004

Also imagine me registering it on their site, & it telling me I'm now due to expire in 2005...............

Picture if you will, I'm also still receiving the virus/firewall updates as well............

Would I have got a freebie somehow?

SHHHH!!!!

(yes.....I re-register every time I reformat and reinstall my HD's...which is approx twice a year.);)

Arse, feck etc, I didn't know that.

A few years back it was something like £2.99 to get the next years updates which was acceptable but recently it's jumped to something like £20 so it's almost worth paying a little extra and buying the latest software (I bought AV 2004 Pro with 2 licences in the pack for £25 before Xmas).

Next year though.... hmmm.

I might have uninstalled my norton system works/virus/firewall then i might of re installed it with only 1 month left on the free sub's and when i re-registered it they gave me another 12 months. Its worth trying next year but they will probably they get wise to it.:beerjug:

must have been a dream ...I would never do that it's theft!
;)

I buggered up my 2003 install and then found I had bought it over the web and they only allow you to down load the main program 12 months from time of purchase.

bought NAV 2004 on ebay for £12 and it has spyware notification ( though only when you do a virus scan - it does not pick up spyware with autoprotect)
