Norton Firewall conflict

Couldn't access any internet sites yesterday - logged on to btintenet OK but when I tried to access Explorer I got the Page Cannot be Displayed message. Farted around for ages and found that when I disabled Norton Firewall, eveything was OK again. What's going on?

Had similar problems with my laptop running Norton. Trying to get the laptop to network with my desktop and printer was almost impossible. Decided to remove Norton and instal AVG Pro.
Everything now works perfect and as both machines are now running AVG Pro, updates and networking are now transparent.

Nice to see others gradually "seeing the light" about Norton

Dump it, delete it, erase it, re-format and re-install without it - you know it makes sense.

AVG and ZoneAlarm do a better job for free!
