I thought I'd share some photos of my local playing ground. No GS content

I live in Bergen, the 2nd largest town in Norway. It is on the westcoast of Norway, and close to all the best riding scenery and roads Norway have to offer. Basically lots of twisty roads snaking their way between mountains and fjords :)

I am currently playing with the idea of getting a GS for long distance, 2-up touring, and if possible make it available for loan/renting to fellow bikers wanting to experience Norway on 2 wheels. I'll be happy to guide if any GS'ers should pass through this area. Nothing beats local knowledge :)

Enjoy the scenery!

Great pics - shame those bikes kept getting in the way :D

Can you re-arrange the number plate over there?

I fancy '1055 ER' :D (with a well placed mounting bolt)

The roads and scenery around Bergen are truly magnificent, unfortunately I normally only get to sample the airport area but the view from overhead is stunning, I must get the ferry to Kristiansand with a bike some time

Welcome :)

Looks like excellent Tuono territory. I'd love to get over there but always unsure about the weather.

The weather is always a lottery. The last 30 days we have had about 3 days with rain :)

I was in Bergen a few months ago and it had been raining for 90 straight days.... I lost big time there....

Guide

Hi RoteEddie !!

Me and Mrs H are going to catch the boat from Newcastle to Bergen for a small tour sometime in the next couple of months and would be happy to have a guide.

Any chance of an email so that I can talk further?

Cheers

Eddie,

I toured some of your country with my wife a couple of years back, only two rainy days out of ten, as good as we get in Scotland! The best day for riding was to Lysebotten, but emotionally it was the day we went to Aurlandsfjord. We emerged from the tunnel on the way to Flam (from Vinje) to find the QE2 berthed there. We had intended to go on the railway but instead rode three ferries to get round to the south of Sognefjord to get pictures of her there later.

It was special amongst all that natural beauty, to see something we made which defined who we are, or were, as a nation. I was so proud the tears ran down my face as we rode beside her to Vic.
