has anyone had speeding nightmares in Norway?

Looks like a change of route through Sweden might be in order.

Went through several traps on my trip, only saw one before I was actually through it. In one case the guy was lying behind a hedge by the side of the road with the radar gun.

Didn't get done though. The traps where all at places I had already slowed down due to the conditions.

And staying vaguely within the speed limits still allows losts of peg grinding, well it did two up with luggage and the standard shock. North of the Artic circle we never saw a trap, and where the roads were straight enough to really speed, visibility was plenty good enough to spot any potential traps. And there werent any hedges up there anyway.

Perhaps I should add that we went in 2001, things might have got worse since then :(

Ooops. Sorry, completely unimportant, but in the interests of accuracy, 'twas 2002, not 2001.

The pictures shows pølse i brød = good!:)

We have:
Grillpølse
Wienerpølse
-i brød
-i lompe

Try lompe! It's a potato-wrap!
If you eat our food, it's easier to speak like we do! Eat lompe!

...or try a burger; we have that too!

Hope you are in the Oslo-area on a wednesday evening;
Go to Tyrigrava, it's the local MC-cafè. It's close to Gjersjøen, FjordCamp and the amusement park Tusenfryd.
And Tyrigrava are making special Tyriburgers!

I hope I meet some UKGS'ers over here!

Hi Liv,

I have had Dansk Polse and Svensk Korv and I do quite like them!

Never had the Norge version and certainly haven't even heard of lompe so I will eat lompe!

Dates are still to be set but If it is a Wednesday I'll let you know and we can meet up.

Apart from the lax (or is it lacks in Norwegian?) and it's Gravad variant, what fisk do you reccommend?

Hi!

Gravet laks = ugh!
Røket laks = good!

But normally I like the fisk camouflaged, like fiskegrateng;
I'ts fisk in a white sauce with vegetables and macaroni.
And kids like it too! :)

And I like fiskeboller; in white sauce or put them in a fryinpan, boiled carrots and potatoes, and cucumber.

Near by Lofoten, Vesterålen; they make the best fiskeboller in the world!
Buy a can of Vesterålens Fiskeboller, and you'll find it in stores all over Norway! The best souvenir!

:) Liv.
