Opinions please:
I'm going to keep this vague for the time being. I bought a car on 17th December from a main dealer, 3yrs old, and on the initial test drive one of the things I noticed immediately was that the glow plug light on the dash was'nt going out. This was pointed out to the salesman at that time...
"Don't worry, we'll sort that out along with the other things you mentioned"
Also at point of sale 2yr mechanical breakdown warranty purchased.
Picked car up.. still glow plug light on, which indicates some sort of engine fault.
Salesman: "Bring the car in next week and we'll sort it"
A week elapses "sorry can't fix it" they then booked it into its parent main dealer who has the right diagnostics.
The car has now been with parent dealer for a week, and the bill for new injectors is going to be £800 plus. the dealer I bought the car from wants the warranty company to pay the bill. I have a form signed by them stating that there is nothing wrong with the car (for the purposes of the warranty).
I may be wrong but it sounds like fraud to me, as the fault was there and noted prior to sale, and the dealer seems to be wanting to palm off the cost of repair to a warranty company, who if they knew I dont think would be too happy
Feel like asking for a refund, as I have only had the car 6 weeks and its been in for repairs for over two of those...
Opinions welcomed, and what are my chances of getting nearly 5 grand back?
Cheers Bryn
