New son-in-law as pillion returning from a great weekend in Hastings.
Filtering the ques up to the Dartford tunnel.
As I enter i notice my high beam is still on. And adjust my fingers to knock it off. Suddenly the bike begins to accelerate into the car in front and for a split second I couldn't work what was happening.........
:hapybnce:

Keep away from that "Resume" button !

The sooner all this fuckwit electronic gadgetry starts getting omitted from road vehicles the better.

HA HA
It would have happened the same on my Triple Black. The TFT would have shown the Red Cruise symbol change to Green (Set at 80) but i didn't have the time to look when it happened :D

All the gadgets are great. I'm admitting full responsibility Tarka. 100% user error !
And we must also admit, the majority of them make it safer !

Schoolboy error...……………. :rob

Thankfully - all the natural reactions...……….. knock it off.

Did you poo your pants? (bet you did)

:D

It was a split second "WTF" moment. To which your comment is spot on.... My instant reactions did knock it off. I must have traveled 10 meters or so. An yes, Heart in mouth, change pants when home jobbie.
All this said though, I've admitted it on here, but my son-in-law didn't know anything about it. I didn't tell him. He must of thought i was doing with intent. Showing off or something:jes

Well you surely will not be the last, who has not made a mistake, god knows why I have cruise control in a car or a bike, never ever used it, somehow even though it might be good, I prefer to listen to my aching bones and stop for a rest, glad all ended with a chuckle.....:D

I use it, on long hauls. (on the European mainland) And its a god send. Just to drop your right hand down. Or to refasten my poxy left velcro sleeve up again.

Manufacturers shouldn't be allowed to fit cruise unless it is the adaptive type which senses vehicles ahead. I am still convinced that mine resumed without me touching the switch, which nearly resulted in me losing control while going around a mini roundabout, and someone else on here reported that his had resumed several times without the switch being touched. I never use mine now, and make sure it is always in the off position. In any case, I don't like the slightly out of control feel it gives, and unless on a virtually empty road I think CC is more trouble than it is worth, as it stops you subtly varying your speed to match with gaps in the traffic when you anticipate a need to change lane, so you often have to come out of cruise and then resume. I think a lot of the dangerous last minute lane changing you see these days is because people are too idle to come out of cruise and take proper control of their cars.

what you need is one like mine.. works a treat .. but only when you want it to :)

This rallye adventure I have now is the bike I've been searching for. It's a keeper.
That said I've said that three times now.
More than happy !

Rode my old GSA TE and the new GSA for the first time later on last year in the dark and it was the first time I have ever thought that a bike needs illuminated handlebar switchgear , the left hand cluster in particular is very BUSY and it is easy to hit the wrong button in darkness when say going for the dipped beam function
