My brother has a Blitzworld 'Vigilante' buggy in which he drives his severely disabled son (Rudy) around. Its about as close as he can get to a 'raw' experience... wind in the face / weather , noise , vibration etc.

Bro' feels that it it is an 'isolating' experience for Rudy as there is no ' conversation' ( its one way only anyway as Rudy is mute) but Bro does like to talk to him, making that connection as they go along.

Anyway thats the back story but what would be the best set up for that 1-2-1 speech that only needs to go one way?

I'm not up on this at all . Rudy is 23 and has Dravets Syndrome so he's not a small child

Any help /advice appreciated. People are suggesting Sonic Rally type helmets but I think these are overkill

Something like this, perhaps?

Or the more expensive:

Have a Google and surf using: simple person to person intercom for motorbike or some such similar form of words.

(y) Thanks

I'll take a look at those. Hadn't considered the boating angle.

If you're both wearing simple open face (or any other type) helmets while riding in the buggy, one (me?) could set up a very simple wired solution using an old Autocom system worn is an over-the-shoulder holster. All voice activated so no buttons to press. A domestic Bluetooth intercom solution would be just as easy.
If you don't need to wear helmets then it might be possible to adapt a pair of ear defenders to act as holders for the speakers.

Helmets are not a legal requirement but set the scene for Rudy ( he has his own steering wheel :) ) and its easier to manage the eye protection with a visor which is definitely recommended!!
I'm passing all these ideas onto bro' Thanks
