Not Doc not in Cologne

That is good value. Our trip cost more (each) partly because we don’t have such cheap flights available and we didn’t do much self catering - the restaurants along the Playa de Las Canteras are quite expensive by Spanish standards. This was our first visit to the Canary Isles and we’d definitely visit again in January, February or March for a bit of winter sun. Renting a bike was a great way to explore the Island. I’m still not an ‘Island’ person and after a few days was beginning to feel a bit restricted which I used to find when I went to the Isle of Man regularly, years ago. The roads and views are spectacular although I will probably stick to the Alps and Pyrenees for now which are, relatively speaking, on my doorstep but not really much fun in the winter.
Surprised you got island fever here . We did 500 miles and barely rode the same road twice . Love the Alps and Pyrenees but nowhere in the world offers such variety of roads in one place

I'm the same. this was my 3rd visit in 12 months. Yes, i do hit the same roads a few times but i love them all and i could ride the same roads there every week if i had the opportunity!!

I am a bit spoilt as I'll be in the Picos and Pyrenees in July.

Ha ha . I’m doing Picos/Pyrenees/Alps in May. Himalayas in July . Hopefully riding in Nevada/Utah in April

Good luck with that…. I did that area a few years back and found it as boring as hell….. preferred Northern Cal but if it’s just a few days I’m sure it’s fine.
Just my opinion and as I have said often each to their own….

Like your trip report and photos of this last one. Defo food for thought and maybe a trip. Price was also pretty good. I could maybe use some of my miles to get there as well but would not want to do it alone but with someone who knows what’s what.

Boring ? It’s stunning .
Did it by 4x4 years ago .
Should have a Vegas work trip in April so will rent a bike and head off through Zion Canyon to Bryce Canyon for the night . If I don’t nod off on the way . 😜
Meanwhile, we land in about 10 minutes

Making use of the free Wi-Fi? 👍👍

Scenery wise sure, it’s nice. We stayed at Moab and did a few day trips which was nice but if you want biking country with twisties my choice is north California crossing the Sierra Nevada a couple of times between Yosemite all the way up towards the Oregon border. As said each to his own…..

Don’t that many times . But never ridden in Utah and if work are paying me to drop off 200 + misguided thrill seekers , it would be rude not to to . Plus I’m not staying in the shit hole that is Vegas for 72 hours ! 😜
Plus I need more mugs from Southwest Diner in Boulder !!

Morning,

I've done the GC trip 4 times now including last week. Twice with mates, brought the mrs in November and on my own last Feb.

Going on my own for the first time was a little daunting however bit of breakfast in the morning, out on the bike all day on the best of roads followed by dinner and a few hours people watching on the prom put the day in and made it a great trip too.

Myself and others can share fantastic routes and recommendations on where to stay and dine etc.

If you are considering it - get it booked. Winter riding in GC is amazing.

So we replanned back via Mogan to Altea on the awesome GC200 then the 210 back to Artenera.

He said one red line means road works and two means it’s shut .

There were no roadworks, just new tarmac for the entire route.

First an ice-cream

Quite possibly the best stretch of road I’ve ever ridden . Race track smooth, little traffic and fast sweeping bends and some tight hairpins up over a mountain range .Done it a few times in both directions but blows my mind every time .
Like the Route Napoleon on acid. Simply sublime .

This is like riding the balcony roads in the Vercors. On new tarmac, with some of the steepest tightest hairpins you will ever ride

I’ve said it before -if you’ve never been to Gran Canaria you really should . I’d rate it as the finest weeks riding you can ever do anywhere . Such variety and stunning scenery.

A world away from the naff resorts where all the Brits stay crowded on a beach .

Landmarkjohn may be in this piccy 😜

Meanwhile, had a WhatsApp from Canary Ride. The Stelvio is worse that thought and well fucked. They sent me these pics, but I’m not sure what is the issue, being a mechanical numpty
