I drove to Wales and back, the speed cam Data base warned me of many cams that were in fact not there, but it didnt warn me of cams that were there. I was a bit gutted.
Now i must check what ive downloaded :(

Yeah,
Think its a bit duff myself!
Within the database is a list of mobile van sites, and they being mobile means just that..........99% of the time they are somewhere else.
In the end I just started to ignore the database because I felt it unreliable, it's now deleted.
Probably best to keep within the posted speed limit!!!!

I will delete mine, when I learn how. I was getting often the warnings for no reason, then when I got on the A14 I drove past loads that I didn’t get a warning for :spitfire Good idea, but not accurate enough yet.
Just a thought, would it not show the cameras if I was not zoomed right in :nenau Na its rubbish (sorry)

Accuracy of the database relies on user feedback, not here, but where ever it’s produced. (Pocket GPS??) update via this link

i have the pocket gps database download and agree about most of the cameras arent where they are supposed to be.

i now just keep a lookout for the big yellow boxes and white vans at the side of the road, when i decide to 'make progress' :D

Are you sure you weren't looking at the little coloured blobs that indicate a 'mobile camera site' and expecting to find a static one???

The clue's in the 'mobile' bit ;)

As ebbo said Nigel, it also relies on feedback...if people don't tell them the cameras are there/not there, they ain't gonna know mate .......

And when did you download it???? was it the current one????

:)

Hi Bill,
I have downloaded the latest version.
I am aware that it relies on "feedback"
But the A14 is famous for its cameras. And if the "static cams on there aren’t shown, then
My unit does show a difference between "mobile" and the "static" cams.
I believe now, that this data base is in its infancy and will be very good when matured, just like the women I like :D
But as for using it now............................... :1/10 :flush

Don't you think in reality we should be looking at the road and our speed rather than the type of 'blob' on the screen of our Garmin.
In my opinion, the database, though a good idea, has too many issues and not worth the money.

Paul
