Well this time next week i will be arriving at Santander............starting on a 3 week tour of Spain, France and Italy.
I have no routes planned and nothing booked other than the ferry, the first night we intend to camp at Potes and visit Fuente de the following day. After that europe is our oyster lol.
Has anyone got any must do routes whilst in the Picos de Europa area? I have a garmin 660 so any must do routes for this area would be gratefully received.
The only fixed time i have is to be in Venice between the 9th and 13th of June to catch up with my girlfriends mate..............other than that its a free for all.

Cheers for any recommendations in advance

Garry

For Fuente De arrive early. We got there for about 1015 on a Friday and it was fine. By 11 am the queues were already building and were maybe 45 minutes long for the lift up.

why not go straight down to fuente de and stay in one of the 2 hotels near the lift, they are both good although we preferred the little one on the left as you arrive (hotel rebeco). When you go up the lift its weird, its a totally different landscape - its great. I walked up to the hotel on top of the mountains heading north from the lift I think, about 4 miles walk. well worth a visit.

we leave for poole to gijon this tuesday 27th mid day for the 6pm ferry, got a month of touring to do with only the first night booked in gijon,

Garry,
Recommend you travel the N260 which runs along the Spanish side of the Pyrenees, great road on a bike. The Picos area where you are staying have fantastic biking roads, enjoy.

Hi are you going on the 1st? As we are going on the same ferry from Plymouth, there are a few other guys going down on that ferry, I have had a chat with a guy from the FB 1150GS page who is on the same boat and we should all get together, you never know you might get some great routes to go on from them. You won't be able to miss me I have BLOOD written on the screen and on the panniers. Hope to see you on the boat, and if not have a great trip. Also if your going through Europe you must go up from Italy into Austria, then on into Germany via Fussen and Garmisch- Partenkirchen and if you can get there by the motorrad week you should have a great time.
