Severe Weather Advisory. (No warning has yet been issued)

Possible Disruptive weather on the way. Heavy Snow & High Winds.

We have been closely monitoring a very active weather system that will move in from the South West during Thursday. Early suggests were that this will fall as Heavy Rain across most areas, However current weather models now indicate that this could fall as snow and with the weather system likely to stall as it moves in and bumps into the cold air, heavy and prolonged snowfall may affect many areas with accumulations possibly exceeding 10 – 20 cm with up to 30 cm or more over high ground, this will lead to some major travel disruption, also high winds are likely and that combined with heavy snowfall may lead to interruptions to power supplies from snow accumulating on overhead power lines.

This weather is unusual for this time of year and there is still some uncertainties regarding where the heaviest snowfall will be and whether or not it will just fall as rain in some parts, this is causing some headaches in the office as some areas may have rain to start with which could turn to snow later as the rain could cause the air temperature to fall low enough for any precipitation to turn to sleet & snow. It really is a difficult weather setup to forecast.

We have chosen not to issue a warning at present as changes are highly likely so please keep up to date.

Times past

Thanks lads. I may relive my youth one of these weekends. All I need now is a Gpz1100 b2 and an ex army surplus sleeping bag.

For sure , lets hope it warms up .

It doesnt get much more boring than Bushmills in the evening , usually
nothing happening . Portrush , would be better ,and is not that far away ,
Coleraine is a bigger town with probably more happening.
If your in the area on Good Friday , then i would Aim for Derry , which will
be Buzzin ion that particular night . There are no pubs open in the Rep.Of Ireland on Good Friday , and the Crowds head for the North , Usually the bigger Border towns , Derry wins the watch hands down.. On top of all that Its the City of Culture this year and to celebrate the Drd are sponsoring the
"City Hotels " you can have a room for two for £49.00 .
Where in Mayo are you going ?..

Shamrock is still a closed shop rally ?

Considering the times we live in, great that they can run one like that :beerjug:

It's fu*kin' snowing again !

Civil,
I'm going to my in laws in Achill. The father in law says the best country's up the north so i'm going to have a look.
Should be a decent ride Bushmills to Achill ? Don't care if it's quiet i'll need a decent nights kip.
Snow in West London this morning, what's it doing in Ireland ?
It has to be 7 deg.plus on Thurs or i'm not going.
