Not naked, cold or afraid any more!! ......

Looks to be a really high quality job. The new paint scheme helps to mask the ugly collection of plastic panels, pulls the bike together in a really good way.

Still think the WC's need a one piece metal shroud to cover the tank, air box and radiators.

Well there is no doubting the quality of the work and that is just reinforced if you click on a picture and look at some of the other work on his Flickr account, but I must be the only one who prefers the look of the standard bike.

Mine is white also and I would love to have the white panels in a sort of pearlescent white like a BMW mineral white.

One of the things I love about doing what I do is that there are no rules. Quite often I'm asked to do something that's purely a customer choice, for no other reason than it's what they really want. I absolutely respect anyone's taste in liking a standard bike. I've kept my 10 year old KTM 950ADV original because I love the way it looks. I do also commend anyone who decide to take the plunge and spend not an inconsiderable sum of money making the bike look just the way they like it. They have the courage of conviction so to speak and I applaud that. Steve's bike was never going to be everyone's idea of the perfect looking bike but he is absolutely over the moon with it and for me (and hopefully Steve) that was all that really mattered. ................. The photographs really don't do it justice though!

The white finish on Steve's bike is 2x coats of BMW Alpine white base coat followed by 2x coat of Mercedes Diamond white metallic base coat
The Blue finish is 1x coat of Aston Martin Tungsten Grey metallic base coat followed by 2x coats of BMW Racing Blue (Both of which applied over the above white finishes)
The red stripe is Honda Glory Red metallic base.
The silver 'Boxer' is Manx Norton Silver base metallic.
The 'M' sport logo are metallic versions of the original BMW colour codes for this logo with the small silver pin stripe around the 'M' sport badge in Manx Norton Silver base metallic
The 1st clear lacquer coats are Diamond clear HS 2k Lacquer containing 1.5% white Xralic followed by the second coats without the xralic.

It's a time consuming process but to get it right you have to take the time.

Beautiful quality work, but fuck me, that has got to be the most garish tart's handbag I've seen for many a year

As you say though, his bike, his money, his choice

I'm quite jealous, not of the bike (though It is nice) but of the skill and talent you have for your vocation.......I wish I could do that !

I can't even use a rattle can without making a mess.

It's brilliant. Reminds me of my randy mamola boxercup with that paint job and wheels. Fantastic.
I love the carbon look engine caps.... Where from please?!!!

I think that "Carbon Look" is the genuine article, and very nicely done too! I would be interested in knowing the supplier.
