Not really a ride report .... more of a quick visit

If it involves mankinis I'm not interested ....

Woke up feeling a little worse for wear (and I couldn’t even blame it on alcohol :blast)

Fired up the gas ring and breakfast was soon on its way, cooking more than I needed so I could take some with me for lunch.

Headed off to the shower block and to my surprise they had hairdryers hardwired in next to the mirrors .... whoop! Its the small things that please me so (smile)

Today was going to be a full on beach day, heading off out of the camp I found there was a lovely little walkway through the woods on the edge of a lake

With an ice-cream van parked next to it, slightly different from the norm ... pretty eye-catching though

It was a lovely walk .....

I thought it was best not to ask why she was carrying a hammer and kept a slight distance behind her

And before long it opened up to a beautiful sandy beach. The sea mist was rolling in but it was still warm

I found the perfect spot to relax in the dunes and watched as the world went by me .... there really weren’t many people about to be fair

Giles, Rosie would love it here!

So with my trusty friend Mr Grey and Mr Gordons G & Elderflower I read for a while .......

.... and I must have nodded off for the next thing I knew I was woken by somebodies dog which had been splashing about in the water, which had wandered over and shook itself next to me, woke me with a bit of a start!

It was a quick lesson learnt with a few painful after effects ... do not fall asleep here, don’t be lulled into a false sense of security, the sun burns its way through the clouds and I was feeling a little sore which made for a pretty uncomfortable ride home

There really isn’t much more to say other than I had a fabulous time, 2 days away in the UK and I didn’t touch the bike once.

Going back to the beach huts which lined the beach further along (this was taken the night before, I forgot to post it)

There was one for sale, guess how much? I was astounded when I went back to the harbour and found the agents

Yes, it was more than the price of 3 brand new WC GS’s with all the bling you could buy on top from Touratech!

Hmm ... would you trust an agent that sold igloos to tourist ;)

Thank you for taking the time out and visiting my thread. I guess it’s not as exciting as some of our long distance ride reports here but you don’t really have to go far to enjoy yourself and that I did. It was different, an experience on many new levels for me and yes, I guess I shall go back some point in the future ...... x

You don't have to go far or for a long time.

:beerjug:

Indeed, yes, thank you Mr K :)

I've done the long distance riding too, France, Italy etc but this was just nice to chill. 400+ miles was easily covered though :thumb2

Nice report, hope you tried the ice cream, best vanilla to be had at the seaside (other than Rossi at Southend) :)

What a great report. Just shows it doesn't need to be foreign to be fun :D I remember doing the Norfolk coast path with the wife years ago and one of our stops was in Wells next the Sea. Great spot.

Thanks for sharing :thumb2

Rob

I'd be happy to rub some after sun into your sunburn for you Duchess :D:drool

I'll let you know next time :D

A thoroughly enjoyable read :thumby:

Cheers M. :) Not the huge biking adventure but hey it rocked me for a couple of days, I loved it!

Oooh the ice cream was amazing! The grass covered wagon sold the most amazing home-made ice-creams, I've never tasted anything like it in my life!

Rob

Its the first time I've been there Rob, and yes I know I'll be going back. There is nothing like the UK coastline when you get a bit of sunshine.

snoot you perv :D

nice bike BUT ITS ORANGE :D

beach huts are insane

The beach huts were insane, they hold some sort of competition between them all .... they really are a sight to see. One was quite tall, built on stilts with a slide built off the balcony edge into the sand. The kids were lining up in the day to go on it, I dont think the owner was too chuffed though :D

Oi, nothing wrong with a bit of orange and glitter ;)

Have you still got yours?

Excellent:clap............just a few more 'sun burn photos' would increase the readership a thousand fold:green gri

EDIT: That was a very sexist comment and I apologise ..... honest:D

Great to have a RR from a lady/girl though, gives a different perspective:thumb

You're a bad man Tim

Lovely ride report, Karen.....You're braver than me on the camping front though

Another thing conquered:clap

Camping and me is like trying to mix oil and water, we don’t match, we dont mix too well.

Well after my experience at the Cotswolds do I have been out and bought a new bag and bed. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the parking up in a field and chucking up the tent. What I hated was the deflating matress and the lack of sleep! (I am sure ""some people" would suggest I would sleep more if I shut up!).

I got some great advice on what to buy and I have followed it - and now I am itching to go camping again to try it out!

Off to the French Alps with Mark Hooton next year and I really cannot wait. It really is so much better than riding to a nice hotel, really seems to "fit" the bike experience so much better.

Thanks for sharing!

Great report - like your style and it shows that any trip can be an adventure :bounce
