OK, '03 1150GS, 6000 mile service a couple of weeks ago and since then she won't start properly. Here's what happens.....
Rolled out of the garage the morning after the service and went to start. Everything sounds right but not firing. I'm starting the normal way, no throttle, finger on the button. Hmm, me thinks, maybe I was just a little too low on fuel on the return from SPC. I dump 5 litres of fuel in and still she won't start. I'm getting a bit fed up now 'cos I'm all kitted up and have to be somewhere so I press the button with the throttle open a little. Hoorah, she starts, Booh, she dies. Try again and keep the revs high, engine now running. She cuts out a few times so I ride to the petrol station reving her like a 2 stroke. Fill up with fuel and no problem restarting.
Problem solved, I though. Just a little fuel starvation.
Well, so I thought 'cos every time I go to start her after she's not been used for a day or two - same as above. I made sure I left four bars of fuel in the last couple of times and same thing - I can only start if I open the throttle. I have noticed the fuel level has dropped slightly from when left and am thinking maybe I have a fuel leak?? There's no smell of petrol in the garage and no obvious signs of a leak. SPC did the fuel mods at the same time as the service.
I phoned SPC last week and gave them the details. They said we'll call you back. Still not heard from them despite leaving further messages.
So, I thought I'd post here and ask whether anyone else has suffered this and if I'm being naughty by starting the bike with the throttle open 'cos I seem to remember reading somewhere on here that I shouldn't
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
