Battery on my 1150 has been a bit weak latley (ABS lights going alternate when I start). Sat talking to mother in law at side of road today engine off but all switched on ,went to leave and got heavy clicking from starter button :blast had to push it home luckily only a few hundred yards.Put the charger on and starting fine now:thumb2
Did I just kill the charge or is it possibly something more any ideas please

:beerjug:Brian...

BTW.. first time in acouple of years it's had to be pushed anywhere.Am I glad it was only two roads away:mad:

How old is the battery?

Have you flattened it before?

What sort of battery is it? Gel or liquid lead acid?

When the ABS lights have flashed after start, have you stopped the engine a few miles up the road and all has been good with the ABS lights?

Keep the bike on a charger all the time? If so what type of charger?

Hi John...
18 months old

not run flat before

turned off and tried again a bit of a twist normally helps

never on charger used every day

charged ok
now running no problem, maybe invest in a charger I can link up and use on a more regular basis

What type of battery? Mine was a lead acid and failed after 16 month's and a mates oddesy battery failed after 10 months!!
my battery just kept leaving ABS lights on, but not every time so took a chance on it being the battery and now everything is ok,now got a optimate 4 for £40 from ebay.

What make of battery is it?.
OEM ones seem to last a good few years but cheap ones fail in a relative short time.
Is it being charged properly?.Should be at 13.8 volts with engine running.
Alternate flashing ABS lights normally mean low/weak battery.
Try checking/cleaning battery terminals.
