Not very adept at using Nav II / Mapsource

Apologies if this is dumb.

I can plot a very nice route on Mapsource and then as soon as is it on the Nav II, it calculates and decides on a different route.

Kinda irritating. Anyway to stop this other than plotting lots and lots of waypoints?

One way to reduce it is to make sure the preferences in Mapsource and the Nav 2 are the same, eg paved / un-paved roads.

Another is to make sure you have / use waypoints on roads you want to go down, I use fuel stations a lot to "assist" the GPS to do this. I have a zumo and it does the same btw.

So I shall have to look at the options page on the Nav II.

BTW here is a link to a really nice and friendly routing web page. It is probably already on here somewhere but I just found it.

I like it 'cos you can select scenic routes and it calc's tolls and petrol.

Oh and it also downloads in a number of different Sat Nav formats including Garmin! Nice.
